1. Be Interested:-
Be absorbed in something and you more readily learn it. When you study because
you enjoy it, your learning is deeper, richer, and last longer, you will be
more persistent, more creative, and more eager to do challenging work.
2. Relate Learning to
Life:- When there is a direct connection between classroom learning and
your practical experience, there is an electrical spark that turns on the light
bulb of understanding, and you will understand what you learn better.
3. Try to
comprehend;- When people try to understand something, they stimulate both
their thinking ability and their memory.
4. Concentrate:-
Concentrate is the very heart of learning, it is so important that it has been
called a fundamental prerequisite of intelligence and has even been equated
with intelligence itself. The only key to concentration is to start with brief
periods of study and then lengthen them incrementally.
5. Paraphrase:-
paraphraseing redues information into smaller, manageable chunks, which are
easier to remember. Good not takes exploit this principle by not taking note
verbatim.
6. Associate new
things with what you already know:- Recall is enhanced when you clearly
associate new things with what you already know. The more associations you
make, through more better the recall.
7. Visualize:-
Visualize material where possible, create exaggerated or humorous mental
pictures as a memory aid.
8. Review:-
Within 24hours, we can forget upto 80 % of what we studied. By doing a brief
preview after a study session, then again a day, week an even six months later,
we vastly improve our recall, even raising it to nearly 100 %
The best way to remember something is to change it,
transform the information in some manner. If its visual, make it verbal, if its
verbal create a diagram or picture of it. This approach make study not only
more rewarding but also more enjoyable
